PIEKTĀ MŪZIKAS INSTRUMENTU SPĒLES NOMETNE TALANTĪGIEM UKRAIŅU MŪZIKAS SKOLU AUDZĒKŅIEM
No 6. līdz 18. novembrim Rīgā notiks jau piektā mūzikas instrumentu spēles meistarklašu nometne Čerņihivas apgabala mūzikas skolu audzēkņiem, pulcējot 25 talantīgus bērnus un jauniešus vecumā no 11 līdz 17 gadiem.
18.00 Pāvula Jurjāna Rīgas Mūzikas skolas A. Mežgaiļa koncertzālē, kur visi 25 bērni būs vakara galvenie varoņi.
No sirds paldies visiem atbalstītājiem un sadarbības partneriem, ar kuriem kopā Čerņihivas apgabala bērniem nodrošināsim tik plašu un aizraujošu programmu: Latvijas uzņēmumam “Baltic Restaurants”, Rīgas valstspilsētas pašvaldībai, Pāvula Jurjāna Rīgas Mūzikas skolai, biedrībai “Aktīvists”, Bērnu Slimnīcas Fondam, Salaspils novada pašvaldībai un tās iestādei “Salaspils Kultūra”, Salaspils Mūzikas un mākslas skolai, Latvijas Nacionālajam simfoniskajam orķestrim, Ziedot.lv, “Skrivanek Baltic”, “Biļešu paradīze”, “Salons Mūzika”, “Pure Chocolate”, “Anrita” un citiem.
FIFTH MUSIC CAMP FOR TALENTED STUDENTS FROM UKRAINIAN MUSIC SCHOOLS
From 6 to 18 November, Riga will host the fifth music camp featuring instrumental masterclasses for students from music schools in Ukraine’s Chernihiv region. The camp will bring together 25 talented children and young people aged 11 to 17.
The highlight of the camp will be the benefit concert “United with Ukraine Through Music”, taking place on 12 November at the new Salaspils Concert Hall. Students from music schools in Salaspils and the Chernihiv region will perform side by side with much-loved Latvian artists Aija Andrejeva, Jānis Aišpurs and Ralfs Eilands, as well as Andrejs Osokins, the founder and organiser of the camp. All ticket proceeds from the concert will go towards the fundraising campaign “Warm Meals for Ukrainian Soldiers on the Front Line.”
This year, the range of instruments represented at the camp will be unusually broad, including the violin, piano, accordion, trumpet, clarinet, trombone and guitar. For the first time, the camp will also feature the French horn, tuba and baritone horn. Over the course of two weeks, the young musicians will refine their instrumental technique and interpretative skills under the guidance of outstanding teachers from Latvian music schools. They will perform in concerts, enjoy a rich programme of creative workshops and explore Latvia on excursions.
The children will be accompanied by three music teachers from music schools in the Chernihiv region. For them, the camp offers an excellent opportunity to learn about Latvia’s music education system, the work of music schools and the teaching practices of their colleagues. They will be able to draw on this experience to help strengthen music education in the Chernihiv region, even under the harsh conditions the region continues to face. The camp’s diverse programme is made possible through cooperation with Baltic Restaurants, the Riga State City Municipality, Pāvuls Jurjāns Riga Music School, "Aktīvists" and other partners.
At the concert on 12 November, the artists will present an emotionally rich programme filled with strength and beauty. Different generations, cultures and experiences will come together in a unified musical experience, ranging from beloved songs and powerful instrumental works to moving performances by the children. For the young talents from Chernihiv, whose daily lives at home unfold in the shadow of constant air-raid alerts and shelling, this is a rare and invaluable opportunity to make music freely in an atmosphere of peace and security, experiencing the joy of performing on stage alongside professional musicians. The concert is being organised in cooperation with Salaspils Municipality and its cultural institution, Salaspils Kultūra.
Andrejs Osokins emphasises: “This concert is incredibly important. Especially at this time, it is vital for the children and teachers from the Chernihiv region to feel the applause of our audiences, the spirit of togetherness and the support of outstanding musicians. They will take this inspiration and light home with them, giving strength to their loved ones and the entire community in Chernihiv as they face the coming winter, which is expected to be one of the harshest since the beginning of the full-scale war. We must do everything we can to strengthen their faith and resilience. That is why I am sincerely grateful to the musicians for their willingness to take part, and to every audience member who will attend this concert to support these courageous children!”
By attending the concert, audiences will provide direct, practical support to Ukraine’s defenders. All ticket proceeds will be donated to the fundraising campaign “Warm Meals for Ukrainian Soldiers on the Front Line.” The funds will be used to purchase and deliver self-heating meals to soldiers, ensuring they have access to warm food even in the harshest winter conditions.
More information about this initiative and how to donate is available at Ziedot.lv.
The young talents from the Chernihiv region will also perform at the camp’s closing concert on Sunday, 15 November, at 6:00 p.m. in the A. Mežgailis Concert Hall at Pāvuls Jurjāns Riga Music School. All 25 children will take centre stage as the evening’s main performers.
Our heartfelt thanks go to all the supporters and cooperation partners who are helping us provide the children from the Chernihiv region with such a wide-ranging and inspiring programme: the Latvian company Baltic Restaurants; the Riga State City Municipality; Pāvuls Jurjāns Riga Music School; the Aktīvists Association; Bērnu Slimnīcas Fonds; Salaspils Municipality and its cultural institution, Salaspils Kultūra; Salaspils Music and Art School; the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra; Ziedot.lv; Skrivanek Baltic; Biļešu paradīze; Salons Mūzika; Pure Chocolate; Anrita; and many others.
